ArtStart is The National Gallery’s touch-screen interactive system, providing access to the Gallery’s internationally renowned collection of more than 2,300 European paintings. To help enhance the experience of the 5 million annual visitors, user activity was examined and design enhancements developed. A–Z categorisation, random browse and date search functionality were a few of the improvements that helped create a seamless experience where visitors can plan their visit and uncover paintings and relevant information they might not have otherwise encountered.
